December 1st 1992
While working for the University of Nebraska, Dr. Don Nelson and Dr. Muhlin Chen envisioned an environment that would bridge the technology needs of the business community and the resources of the University of Nebraska. The Research Computing Group (RCG) was then created as a state-wide resource for businesses and the public sector for the resolution of dynamic technical challenges.
October 1st 1997
With continued success within the University, the Research Computing Group focused on expansion and project diversity. In 1997, Dr. Nelson and Dr. Chen started i2rd as a privately held company (Interactive Information R&D) and continued the vision and service of RCG. From that, the organization obtained greater flexibility and market positioning.
March 12th 1999
With continued growth and success, i2rd moved its corporate offices to the University of Nebraska Technology Park. During this partnership i2rd continued the development of its products, services, and industry relationships.
September 3rd 2003
i2rd received the Small Business of the Year award from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
September 1st 2005
i2rd opens new corporate offices and celebrates the realization of a vision started three years prior. The vision was to create industry-specific sister companies which utlize i2rd's vast technological experience to provide leading solutions and consulting services. The first sister company, Vipa Solutions, offered two services - Occasio for online event registration and management, and FocalPoint, a website-content management and marketing solution.
September 2007
Vipa Solutions launches the new version of Vipa Suite 4.0
August 2010
i2rd creates relationship for the development of the ProviderTrust SaaS healthcare solution.
January 2011
i2rd acquires new corporate offices to better service national clients.
